War a-go-go
So many are calling out the Israelis for war crimes in their ‘disproportionate’ use of force in their war with Gaza; protesting the collateral civilian casualties and the cruelties of war on children and non-combatant civilians; calling for a stronger (pro-Palestinian) international response; calling for international aide; calling for a ceasefire now. I’m not down with any of that. In no way is the State of Israel the bad guy here. The Palestinians started the war, and as soon as it starts going badly for them - which was practically right away - people around the world start crying about restraint, proportion, the suffering of Gaza residents, and war crimes. Stupidity! The Palestinians started it, so it seems fitting to let them re``ap what they sowed. As far as violations of international law are concerned, I don’t think the government of Israel gives a damn right now about international law or international opinion, and I don’t blame it. What the Israelis are doing is a counter-offensive, not an offensive. This is divine justice. This is what divine justice looks like. Don’t like it? Too bad.
Occupation of Palestinian land? No, Israel is not occupying Palestinian land. It never has done. The Palestinian argument, and the foreign voices who echo it, are based on lies, falsehoods, and out-of-context information.
What the Israelis are doing is a counter-offensive,
not an offensive.
Shortages of water, medicine, food and fuel to Gazan residents? Meh.
Eliminating the problem of Arab terrorism is tough medicine. Swallow hard. I expect the IDF to erase Gaza from the map, to kill everything that moves and breathes, human or animal, and when they’re done, annex the vacant territory into Israel proper and begin repopulating it with Jewish Israeli residents. Anything less than that - and it will probably be less than that - will disappoint me.
It is said that Egypt simply cannot accept a couple million Palestinian refugees across its border. They just lack the means to absorb that number. In addition, as always, no Arab nation wants to accept Palestinian refugees. Instead, surrounding Arab governments want the refugee issue to stay alive through perpetual Palestinian encampments so that they can use it as a goad in the international forum.
Hamas cut its own throat the day it attacked Israel. I don’t want a ceasefire now. I want more shelling and more bombing. I want Gaza to make Berlin in ’45 looking like a country club. This is war a-go-go! I expect 2.3 million casualties - a terrible toll, but a toll Palestinian civilians brought on themselves when they decided in 2006 to elect a terrorist organization into government.
I don’t think the government of Israel gives a damn right now about international law or international opinion, and I don’t blame it. This is divine justice.
This is a war of liberation for Palestinians, to free them and purge them of the evil elixir they voluntarily drank - and to redeem them as human beings. The criticism that killing tens of thousands of civilians to eliminate Hamas is morally and legally wrong may hold little water since the civilians are Hamas. You see those civilians crying in the streets of Gaza for their loved ones buried in a newly demolished apartment block? On October 7th, they were the same ones dancing and singing in the same streets rejoicing in Hamas’ attack.
This is a war to redeem Palestinians as human beings.
Hamas uses civilians as a human shield, and that’s a fact. It always has, and it’s doing so now. Hospitals, schools, and residential neighborhoods that are protecting terrorist tunnels have got to go. Hamas takes no responsibility for the safety of the Gazan people, and actively puts them at risk by building terrorist infrastructure under densely populated civilian areas.
Subterranean tunnel warfare is a sticky thing, a potential death trap. What I expect is the IDF to flood the tunnels, or gas them, or burn them out. Or, seal the tunnels, permanently trapping their occupants underground, either temporarily or permanently. And, if all else fails, there’s the nuclear option which, admittedly, would be the worst possible decision. The Israeli government and military dare not say so publicly, but privately they have to accept that all Israeli hostages are lost. They have no need to prosecute their war with care or reserve, and with an eye towards rescuing hostages. Proceed on the notion that all hostages are lost.
So, no ceasefire now! Instead, more fire! This is war a-go-go! When I see headlines like, “Israel continues its attack on Gaza,” or “Many killed in Israel’s counter-attack,” I am quietly satisfied. I’ve also read criticisms of Israel’s battle plan, that it doesn’t actually have a post-bellum plan for Gaza. Meh. There will be no political solution, no negotiated settlement. My hope is that Israel’s post-bellum plan is to annex the territory. But if not that, then the surviving Palestinian residents can rebuild by themselves. With help from abroad, I suppose.
No ceasefire! More fire! This is war a-go-go!
Removing this evil from the world is a good and virtuous thing. And, it is the best way to redeem the Palestinian people - including the children and the non-combatants - who created it.
Who doesn’t want peace? “But first must come the fighting.”
Or not.
