When is enough enough? I wish the media here would stop treating the farce that is North Korea so seriously. It is obvious to us average folk that Kim Jong Il's government and all its functionaries constitute a pack of childish clowns. Liars and fools, morons all . We never hear commentary like this because it is impolitic and impolite. But so what? It is accurate and true. Everyone thinks and says so in personal conversation, but it never gets printed or broadcast. I wonder if the newspaper will print this? It would make a fresh break from the usual analysis and commentary, anyway.
Kim Jong Il is so silly it makes me want to vomit. What is worse, though, is watching those ridiculous North Korean television announcers on Japanese TV news clips. It's like watching the Cartoon Network.
Day after day, week after week, month after monthNorth Korearattles its swords, talks big and plays brinkmanship by making childishly petulant threats if it doesn't get what it wants. It's like watching a poor imitation of The Three Stooges.
Food aid and fuel from abroad to ease its sufferings in recent years are totally voluntary and undeserved donations which are met with threats of military action if sovereign nations suggest reconsidering their compassionate largesse. But compassion and largesse are beyond the comprehension of Communists.
Japanese might think that they have a stake in treating diplomatically with the North because of certain issues: nuclear arms, Japanese abductees, ethnic North Koreans in Japan, money remunerations, port visits, lip service to the creed of peace, etc. But all of these amount to very little. The North has nothing but Beavis and Buthead in the flesh.
I am not worried about a North Koreathat claims to have nuclear weapons. They are so stupid they will probably blow themselves up and still expect the outside world to help them - and continue to threaten us if we don't. In fact, I am kind of looking forward to it. I am especially entertained by their threats of nuclear war because they lose a soccer match. I want to laugh and cry, so I guess I should thank North Korea. It is better than Martin and Lewis.
