Pelagianism
The belief that human beings, by their own efforts, take the initial and fundamental steps toward salvation.
Docetism
The belief that Jesus only seemed to be human, that he was really a divine being in a disguise.
Patripassianism
The belief that God the Father is incarnate in Jesus, that the pre-incarnate Son is one with Him, and yet still distinct.
Gnosticism
The belief that Jesus is not really God, that he is an emanation for the godhead.
Arianism
The belief that Jesus must have been of similar substance as the Father (and not of the same substance). He was on the manward side of the godhead, so that there was a time when he was not. So Jesus is divine, but a lesser divinity that that of the Father.
