The proposition that if anything can go wrong, then it will.
Parkinson's Law

Okham's Razor
Also called the scientific Law of Parsimony, this is the proposition that, all things being equal, the simplest explanation of a phenomenon tends to be the best (not the "correct" one - "best" defined as functionality).
Moore's Law
The proposition that the computing power of computers doubles every 18 months.
Metcalf's Law
The proposition that the value or power of a network grows exponentially as the number of people using it grows.
Hume's Law
It is not possible to move form the description of a natural behavior to the assertion of a norm without presupposing another thesis (i.e., that what happens is good in itself).
