Miss Potter
starring Renée Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paterson, Barbara Flynn, Lloyd Owen and Emily Watson
written by Richard Maltby, Jr.
directed by Chris Noonan
This is a delightful story about Beatrix Potter’s career as a children’s writer. It’s good family entertainment. If you are interested in Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) it is informative and good fun. Renee Zellweger is an excellent actress and she mimics a good British accent. I never cared much for The Tale of Peter Rabbit or any other Potter works. But she is the best selling children’s author of all time. Incidentally, it was only after watching the movie that I realized that the co-starring actor, Ewan McGregor, shares the same last name as Mr. McGregor, the bunny-killing, rabbit-pie-eating farmer from the original Tale. Go figure.
