When American singer Michael Jackson died on June 25th 2009 at the relatively premature age of 50 it convinced me of the curse of musicians with a “J” in their name. They seem to have a propensity for dying young, or badly, or oddly.
Robert Johnson 1911 - 1938 - sold his soul to the devil
John Lennon 1940 - 1980 - murdered outside his apartment
Brian Jones 1942 - 1969 - drowned in his swimming pool
Jimi Hendrix 1942 - 1970 - choked on his own vomit
Jim Morrison 1942 - 1971 - heart attack aggravated by alcoholism
Janis Joplin 1943 - 1970 - drug overdose
Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009 - heart attack aggravated by drug abuse
Maybe it is a curse of the number 10, because J is the alphabet’s tenth letter.
