She Drove Me Crazy
I remember when I lost my mind.
I was on the edge.
I was out of touch.
I felt everything,
and I felt too much of it.
I saw everything.
Everything was an echo of her.
I saw the texture of her skin in the falling rain.
I tasted her scent, her skin, her hair with the dawn’s early light.
She drove me crazy so that even breathing hurt.
I was in it for her beauty,
But she was in it
for her beauty, too.
I was in it for myself, which is also why I got out of it.
