The Lovers’ Day
In the morning your eyes shine like night’s sparkling stars.
By 10:00 your face glows like the full moon on new winter snow.
At noon your hair shimmers like heat from the sea’s open waters.
When 3:00 comes I dream of the touch of your fresh fawn’s breath.
At dinner you come through the door like a spring breeze, bearing pollen.
After the News at 10, by your side in our bed of dreams, in darkness your genius caresses and weaves me.
I’m a new man once again.
