February 2007.
Blue Winter
This has all happened before,
And not just in winter.
Warm sunshine on my face
In a cool mid-winter day
Whispers of spring time just ahead.
Some change is coming and I have to get moving soon.
Dust swirls round my boots
And I know I look cool
Leaning against the school’s brick wall,
With calculatedly downcast eyes
Partially hidden under a cap visor
To broadcast my indifferent air
To the cute chicks over there.
They think I’m vaguely attractive
Because I look mysterious.
But they’re afraid of me, too.
The fools.
Some change is coming, and I have to get moving soon.
I feel I’ve got to get out of this place.
Look at the signs.
Time is gone and the season’s over.
Time to move on and learn
That it’s exactly the same everywhere.
After I move I’ll have to get ready to move once more.
There’s no place like a home that isn’t.
